penatnyer... pakcik (unplanned, thus unprepared 5hrs cycling..)
monday morning, 0715hrs..
original plan:
cycle to tmn bukit layang2, run 2-3 big loops, stretching and back home. abt 10km of cycling + 5-6km of running..
actual adventure:
almost 5hrs of cycling
how that happened:
1st junction, i should turn right, but turned left for more kilometers?! cycled past kolej komuniti, politeknik.. cahaya masai, kota masai.. zigzagging thru cars and motorcycles which stuck in the morning rush.. reached the tmn pasir puteh's junction where i should turn right to go to tmn bukit layang2, but changed my mind again.. turned left towards pantai pasir layar, tanjung langsat port area. i'd measured last time, from my house to that pantai it was about 21km.. around 0815hrs, reached the security post of the tanjung langsat port.. "Sekarang dah tak boleh masuk ke pantai ker bang?".. "Tak boleh dah!".. Shoot.. then they should take down all those misleading roadsigns.. OK, no problemo.. time to cycle home..
on the way back, i saw a few cars and motorcycles coming down from the highway underconstruction near the Titan Chemical plant.. out of curiosity, i cycled up the ramp, onto the highway.. the road itself is completed.. they are now working on the accessories like guardrails, planting grass on the road-shoulder, building the toll plazas, R&Rs including petrol stations and all..
at first, i have no idea where this road lead to.. mesti ada exit kat area kota masai jln mangga ker kot.. simpleton, huh.. kayuh punya kayuh.. maner exit ni?! kat depan kot.. kayuh lagi.. ada orang tengah pasang guardrail.. ada yg tengah tanam rumput.. macam2 lagi la.. tapi, exitnyer tak jumpa..
after awhile, ada signboard hijau (PLUS).. Ulu Tiram / Senai.. Desaru.. ambik arah ke Ulu Tiram / Senai.. no idea how far to the nearest exit.. just keep cycling.. air oren dalam botol kecik dah tinggal sikit jer lagi..
ada kebun orkid, kebun sayur kat tepi highway tu.. really couldn't figure out where am i.. kayuh jer.. ada ternampak miniature of the grand canyon kat tepi jalan tu.. tapi takder kamera..
lalu plaza tol (cahaya baru?!).. of course la underconstruction.. then a few flyovers with no connecting roads yet.. R&R Layang in progress of construction.. kayuh lagi.. sampai la kat ulu tiram.. pikul basikal meniti longkang kat tol plaza ulu tiram?!
dipendekkan cerita.. masuk town ulu tiram, terus ke sg tiram.. energy level dah low giler.. even a gentle slope looks very steep to climb.. berhenti rehat sekejap bawah pokok kat tepi jalan lepas kawasan tadahan air sultan iskandar tu..
sambung kayuh lagi.. sampai kat slope, turun tolak basikal.. basikal pun dah berkeriut2.. kalau dia ada mulut, tak larat pakcik nak tadah telinga gamaknya..
keluar simpang cahaya baru.. another 3-4km to my home sweet home.. dehydrated.. singgah kat surau.. teguk air paip.. penuhkan botol.. sambung kayuh lagi.. ada gentle slope.. cuba kayuh jugak, tapi cramp.. tak pernah2 lagi cramp otot peha.. kalu setakat cramp labu betis tu biasa la.. turun dan tolak basikal lagi.. cuma ada satu lagi uphill kat traffic light simpang masuk ke nusa damai..
kayuh pelan2 sambil teguk air paip yang refill kat surau tu..
sampai rumah almost 1215hrs.. mat alif tolong masukkan basikal ke bawah porch, pegi ambilkan air sejuk dalam fridge.. pakcik terus 'pengsan' kat atas bench bawah porch tu.. terlelap sampai pukul 2 kot.. kena kejut ngan mat alif.. "baba, pegi mandi, solat.. nak makan nasi ni!"
